Do not read or listen to this. I do not blame Soundbooth Theater, as this was a paycheck. I do not think I can trust the author to write stories that are not edgelord fantasy. Don't get me wrong, I am ok with dark humor, but this glorification of the worst in humanity is garbagr. If this description makes you want to read/listen to this book, have at. But stay away from children and animals if you are that kind of person.

really enjoyed episode 1! its got similarities to dungeon crawler carl, but it definitely feels like its own thing!

besides DCC this is such an amazing read! It is such an amazing series! I binged it in no time and will definetly be relistening too it multiple times. its dark, edgy and just perfection!

Wow….So, Im listening to this in November of 2025, and I have to admit…This is good. I really think that Matt Dinniman and Jeff Hays go hand to hand to make masterpieces like this, and others like “Dungeon Crawler Carl”! I started listening to Soundbooth Production audiobooks, and to Jeff Hays in early 2018. I have to admit, it was BECAUSE of Jeff Hays that I got really into the LitRPG genre. And still am to this day! Seeing him go far now to the point of making audio immersion audiobooks puts a warm feeling in me, knowing that he has come far to be here! Matt Dinniman has come far too! And Im so glad that the two has made such a great partnership, that we now get audiobooks lile these! Matt, you know how to take a story, make it dark, and had cool fantasy/science fiction LitRPG lore to it! Cannot wait for more!

After listening to Dungeon Crawler Carl (DCC), I was looking for something else to fill that void. This was ... not it. This is a dark and disturbing story filled with shock effect, gore, mental health issues, and the darkest impulses of humans. The voice actors were great and the sound effects / music were mostly on point although sometimes repetitive. Had I read this book I would have rated it much lower, but the performance / production made up for the plot. Overall, I'm not sad I invested the time or money, but what I really want is more DCC.

i love anything that matt and jeff do. this is no exception. if youre a DCC fan just buy it and listen.

Great production. Moving and pretty frequently absolutely freaky book.

He had money and I did not. It would be nice if these stories could be listened to by everyone. Unfortunately only those with a crazy amount of disposable income can afford these stories. That's how it should be, right? Only the rich should be able to enjoy things like this. The working poor don't need escapism, they need to spend more time working! SBT should be proud.

The acting, sound design and fx are absolutely wonderful. Expect a fair amount of squelchy gore - whether that's a content warning or a selling point is up to each person.
