Agatha Raisin and the Wellspring of Death

Agatha Raisin’s neighboring village of Ancombe is usually the picture of peaceful rural life. But when a new mineral water company announces plans to tap into the village spring, the proposal sparks fierce controversy and divides the parish council into opposing factions.

As the public relations representative for the water company, Agatha finds herself caught in the middle of the dispute. Then matters take a deadly turn when the chairman of the parish council is discovered murdered at the spring.

With rumors spreading and tensions rising, suspicion falls on the council members, any one of whom may have had a reason to silence the chairman before he cast the deciding vote.

Still recovering from her broken engagement, Agatha throws herself into the investigation. To uncover the truth, she must untangle a web of rivalries, secrets, and local grudges—while somehow managing the growing public-relations disaster surrounding the water company.
